Jaded Corp. PI Program
So you want to try your hand at Planetary Interaction? But you haven't done it yet because it looks like too much work? Then you're a lazy asshole! Lazy assholes like you will love the Jaded corporate PI program because you don't need to do any of the thinking or make any spreadsheets. Just build your planets according to the templates on this blog and I'll buy your output products at Jita prices and save you the hauling and selling. You won't make quite as much ISK as you might otherwise, but it'll be a nice on-the-side for you without much extra work.Alternatively if you'd rather do it yourself feel free to ask me for help rigging up your setup and I'll share what I know.
"But this is obviously a scam! Why should I sell you my P2's and let you make mega-ISK turning them into P3's?"
First; shut up. Second; the break-even point for factory planet vs extractor planet requires more extractor planets than you will be able to manage yourself. Thirdly, I'm converting your shit directly to ISK with no hauling.
It should only take you an hour or so to initially set your planets up, and 15 minutes every so often to reset the extractors and empty the output storage. Plus, you're giving money from taxes to Billy so he can blow it on more Paladins or Nestors or some other wacky scheme.
If you want to skip straight to the templates for each planet and don't need the instructions, click here.
Skills needed:
(From E-Uni Wiki:)None of the skills related to PI are technically required to try it out. However, you'll be limited to a single Command Center (and thus a single planet) of the lowest quality until you do some initial training. Additionally, unless you want to place your extractors blind, you'll want to train Remote Sensing to at least level 1. Thus, you're most likely to get the best use out of training that first, then Interplanetary Consolidation and Command Center Upgrades.
| Skill Name | Minimum Level |
|---|---|
| Interplanetary Consolidation | 2 |
| Command Center Upgrades | 3 |
| Remote Sensing | 3 |
| Planetology | 2 |
| Advanced Planetology | 0 |
| Customs Code Expertise | Do not train. |
Detailed explanation of these skills can be found here.
Items needed:
You'll need a command centre and around 5-10 mil ISK for each planet to get started. I usually have spare command centres - just ask. You can buy them in empire space for 80-100K each, but they are a pain the in the ass to haul.PI Resources
PI Resources come in 5 different types called P0, P1, P2, P3, P4 and predictably enough P5. P0 would fill a freighter to pay for a ratting raven while a few hundred units of P5 fits in your pocket and will buy you a titan or two. Plus fittings. Minimum.
I will buy three P2 resource types:
Fertilizer, Test Cultures and Synthetic Oil.

Setting up your first planet - Planet II
| Oceanic Planet P0/P1/P2 Setup |
Planet 2 should produce Fertiliser from complex organisms and micro-organisms. That is some grim shit right there.
Command Centre:
Your command centre does pretty much nothing once placed. Don't link it to the network.
- Find dense deposits of complex organisms and micro-organisms that are near to each other.
- Place a command centre somewhere in between the two deposits. Submit. Upgrade the command centre to full (as your skills allow). Submit.
The spaceport is your main storage area for each planet. You will add and remove all materials from the planet here.
- Place a space port as shown in the picture for Planet II.
Extractors:
Extractor control units allow you to place extraction heads, which are placed on a resource deposit and do the actual mining.
| Extractor Control Unit near a deposit. |
- Look at the picture for Planet II. Always try to keep your links as short possible as they use powergrid for each km. Powergrid is ISK.
- Place your first extractor. Place it so that the circle covers the deposit, but don't place it on the deposit. Unless you're an idiot.
- Hold CTRL and click the extractor to start creating a link. Release CTRL and drop the other end of the link on the Spaceport. Submit.
- Click "Survey for deposits". Select the type of resource to extract. Set the time to 1.5 days. Add three extractor heads to the extractor, and position them for the best hourly rate of extraction. Submit when done.
- Click the output tab for the extractor. Double-click on the red text on the Output tab and then double-click on the spaceport to create the route. Submit.
- Repeat this process for the second extractor.
Factories:
Factories and extractors on Planet 7 (Gas).
They turn P0 raw materials into P1 products.
P2 factories are under Processors > Advanced Industry Facility.
They turn two P1 materials into a P2 material.
- Place all the P1/P2 factories as shown above. The idea is to keep links as short as possible.
- Configure your factories to produce the needed materials by double-clicking the schematic.
- Double-click the red text to route the output to the spaceport again. Do this for each factory.
- Verify that all factory and extractor outputs go to the spaceport (to act as a buffer).
- View the routes tab of your spaceport and find an incoming route for the material you need to send to a factory. Select it and you will see a create route button appear. Use this to route the incoming material to the relevant factories.
- Repeat for each input for each factory. Submit.
- Go smash some sites for an hour or two and come back to check everything is working.
Maintenance:
Reset your extractors and move the heads if needed whenever you have time. You'll only lose the current cycle and it will put you back at the highly efficient beginning part of the extraction process. I do this once every 1-2 days.
Empty the spaceport when it fills up. You do this by warping to the customs office for the planet in an Epithal and transferring it to left hand pane of the office, then dragging it your hold. It will probably need to be done twice a week or so.
Listen out for corp members bleating on TS when you transfer materials in and out of the customs offices, as it makes their wallets blink.
